A great topic ~ let’s discuss!
Kelly Turner at Grounded Fitness wrote a fantastic post recently about exercising, hunger pains and the ways we deliberately misinterpret (and mess up) our appetites.
I highly recommend Kelly’s words to you! They’ll definitely make you think.
For instance, as a result of reading her post, I have to admit that:
1. I like feeling hungry. The hunger pains make me feel skinny. (Sick, I know.)
2. I am scared to not exercise for fear that I will gain weight. I believe I used to over-exercise (like Kelly), but knocked that off relatively quickly because of physical injuries.
How did Kelly’s post make you feel?

Thanks for the shout out! except i have to clear up that I was NEVER an over-exerciser. and I never could be. even as a personal trainer, I could never be one of those people that work out hours a day- i just dont have it in me. Or the time, lol.

Whoops! Sorry about that mistake. Must be flu-induced. :)

I agree with your number 1…because I used to “lose control” at night, I feel successful or “okay” if I go to bed a little hungry. Conversely, I feel like I’ve failed a little bit if I go to bed feeling full. I think I must’ve internalized the whole “don’t eat after 7″ mantra and taken it too seriously, but now its just an automatic feeling I get according to my nighttime eating. I think its really hard to relinquish all control over my food intake (and just eating when I’m hungry to get rid of the hunger pangs) without feeling like I’m going to bounce back to another equally negative extreme…in that sense I’m not sure its something I will ever be able to give up voluntarily.
