John Mayer’s “Daughters” — a good reminder for parents?
I love this video of John Mayer’s song “Daughters“.
The lyrics absolutely haunt me and are good reminders that whatever we do as parents (or role models) will be emulated by the children we influence.
Maybe if some mothers and fathers took the song’s words into consideration, eating disorders would be less prevalent… or at least be acknowledged before they ruined a young girl’s body, mind and soul.
(P.S. I’m not attacking parents in general. Most of us try to do the best we can, and we’re all bound to fail now and again. But there are definitely moms and dads who spend too much time thinking of themselves and too little time thinking of their kids.)
