Water has no calories…

by angelique on June 21st, 2008

… but that never stopped me from denying my body sufficient quantities of H2O when I was actively anorexic.

I can still remember only allowing myself a small Dixie cup of water when I awoke.  Then, I’d go most of the day without much more water or food.  I felt nauseated most of the time, not to mention light-headed, but I didn’t want the scale to register as “too high”.

What made me think of these memories of dehydration was an interesting post by a fellow b5media blogger, Scott, at Health and Men.  Check it out; it’s pretty amusing, and it does remind everyone that staying hydrated is not only healthy, it’s essential.  And it sure as heck beats having a throbbing headache every day.

2 opinions for Water has no calories…

I thought I was the only one who did that. That’s what my nutritionist told me anyway. I still struggle to stay hydrated - although it’s even more important in the summer heat.

The ironic thing is it’s actually easier to gain weight, if you’re dehydrated (your body holds on to every ounce of water).

Nope, it’s not just you who did this. Foolish, huh?
