A little perspective from the universe
Like many bloggers who write about a niche topic area, I tend to kvetch and moan about the same things again and again. And it’s petty, I realize, but it’s part of what makes me human.
In the past few weeks, however, the universe has repeatedly tried to bring me down to earth.
I discovered that not only does my son’s second cousin (five months his junior — she just turned four) have ALL (acute lymphocytic leukemia), but a very good neighbor who battled IBC (inflammatory breast cancer) two years ago had a recurrence of cancerous cells in her body that was fortunately discovered in February. When I spoke to her yesterday, she was upbeat but bald thanks to another round of chemotherapy to stem the tide of the disease.
It’s all about perspective, isn’t it?
I know putting on a few pounds would be a preferable alternative to cancer. Our little relative and lovely neighbor would be more than happy to have my silly problems.
I just have to keep reminding myself of such facts. And focusing on sending positive vibes their way.
