Needed: 24 guys and gals who want to love their bodies
Inspired by the television program “How to Look Good Naked” (which is worthy of a post unto itself), I have a request…
I would like 24 guys/gals to send me pictures of themselves to be posted on this website.
But before you say, “WHAT?!? SHE’S NUTS!”, please read on…!
The pictures have to be full-length and clear but NOT NUDE (or provocative). A simple snapshot with a digital camera will do as long as the pic isn’t too grainy. The photos WILL NOT be labeled, thus protecting the identity of the persons depicted.
On Valentine’s Day (February 14), I will begin what I am calling “24 Hours of Body Love.”
Each hour beginning at midnight EST, I will post one person’s image and request POSITIVE comments on the things that viewers love about that individual’s appearance. (Comments will be moderated and only optimistic ones will be allowed — no exceptions.)
This is not a game and it’s not a joke. I truly want people to see themselves through the eyes of others… and what better day to do that than the one devoted to all things amore?
My email address is at the right side of this page, and I will respect every volunteer’s anonymity. If I receive more than 24 volunteers, we’ll just continue the love-fest ad infinitum! (Oh, that would be wonderful, wouldn’t it?)
Please, please don’t send me images of your ex-girlfriend or neighbor. Let’s keep this as squeaky clean as possible.

Great idea! I just posted an announcement about it at Mental Health Notes. Clarification - these should or should not include our faces?

Your pic can be with our without your face. Since I won’t be “naming names”, as it were, it shouldn’t matter. But I respect some people’s choices not to show their faces but only to show off their bods! :)

This is an interesting idea although fixating on ones body is not. It is what it is. I wonder how many volunteers you have.

Cameron:
It’s true that “it is what it is”, but many people with eating disorders or body image problems just cannot seem to accept the fact that there’s beauty in all shapes and sizes.
I wish I could see someone’s soul instead of fixating on his or her body. Hmmm… that gives me an idea for another challenge… thanks! (I’ll do it after this one…)
Oh, and I have a few volunteers already. :) If we can’t get 24, I’ll be disappointed, but I understand, too. It’s kind of an offbeat idea.
Thanks for visiting and commenting.
